Citizen of the Year Banquet

 
 


The Fairfax County Federation of Citizens Associations, along with the Citizen of the Year  co-sponsor SAIC, hosted the 61st annual Fairfax County Citizen of the Year Awards Banquet held at the Crowne Plaza Tysons Corner hotel. The Federation and SAIC presented Mollie Loeffler the 2010 Citizen of the Year Award for her efforts in revitalizing her neighborhood and the Mason District Council. Federation President Tania Hossain acted as Master of Ceremonies, while SAIC Executive Vice President Debbie Lee James welcomed the banquet guests.

Katharine Weymouth, CEO/Publisher, the Washington Post Media, was the keynote speaker.

In addition to the Citizen of the Year Award, the Federation presented Charlie Dane a Citation of Merit in recognition of his long history in public service to Fairfax County

The Federation presented Special Gratitude Awards to Fairfax County Executive Anthony Griffin, whose service as County Executive provided the county with solid leadership and fiscal stewardship, while motivating and inspiring its workforce, and William Lecos, past president and CEO of the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Tysons Land Use Task Force, where he played a central role in the citizen-based effort to replan Tysons Corner.
